Effective January 1, 2023

Trustees amended the Plan (effective January 1, 2023), to change initial eligibility for new journeyman participants who enter the plan on or after January 1, 2023, or who have lost eligibility for 60 months and are re-establishing eligibility from the 500-hour requirement to an 800-hour requirement. The hours must be worked within a 12-month period. Eligibility rules for helpers remain at 800 hours.

Your Coverage Is Automatically Extended As You Continue To Do Covered Work. Every 120 Hours Of Employment Provides One Month Of Additional Coverage

Effective August 1st, 2002

As A Result Of Working 800 Hours, Without A 12 Month Gap In Covered Work, You Will Become A PIBF Participant And Qualify For Benefits.

You Become Eligible For Benefits On The First Day Of The Month In Which You Complete The 800th Hour Of Covered Work  In Which The Contributing Employer Is Obligated To Make PIBF Contributions.
